| Denver Poker Tour Championship Game Announcement
We would like to thank all of the players who participated in the Denver Poker Tour Championship game on Saturday, June 23rd, 2007 at Table Steaks East. Over 175 players participated from around the United Bar Poker Tour nation including players from St. Louis, Kansas City, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, and of course Denver. The smallest contingent of players, were from St. Louis with three, and Denver had the largest with over 135. The tournament started at 2:15 PM on Saturday with each player receiving 10,000 in chips and the blinds starting at 25 / 25. It took only three hands to have the first person eliminated. However, it took more than 12 hours more to decide a winner. Notable players in attendance were several of the returning champions. Gilbert Segura, last summers champion, Mr. Merriman Sr, also a returning champion. Player of the Year Howard Narlinger could be seen at the final table. Once the Final table was started, the action was fast paced. Two of the remaining players were knocked out immediately, then the game settle down. It took two more hours before the final two were ready. After playing heads up for about 25 minutes, at 2:20 AM, the final two players, Tyle Smith of Lonetree and Steve Boone of Broomfield, had a meeting with Brian Masters of the Denver Poker Tour. A deal was cut.
