Denver Poker Tour has cashed in at the World Series of Poker AGAIN!That's right, the Denver Poker Tour sent a dozen dealers to Las Vegas this week to compete in the Las Vegas Poker Tournaments including the World Series of Poker! The Denver Poker Tour competed in the WSOP casino employees tournament last Friday. The tournament started at 6 PM Friday night and went on until 3 AM Saturday morning with 1030 players paying $500.00 each to play and the "In the money" was decided to be 99 players. The last 3 DPT dealer/players alive were Brian Masters, Dennis King, and Jeff Kyzer at 1:30 AM. At 2:10am Brian Masters was knocked out by "Broadway" vs. "Full House" Brian Masters went out 221st place. At 2:25 Jeff Kyzer went out in 175th. BUT DENNIS KING SURVIVED!Dennis King made it to the 3 AM cut off with a little better than average chip stack. Dennis King was instructed to come back the next day to finish the game. The game started at 5 PM Saturday night. Dennis continued to play when they declared all players were "In the Money" at 8 PM. With the cards flying and the bets getting higher, Dennis made a move that unfortunately didn't hold out. Dennis King went out in 54th place and collected $1,777.00 for his time. Stay tuned to the website and see who the DPT was playing with!The Denver Poker Tour entered other tournaments as well. AND WON THEM!Thursday afternoon saw Paul Orrison play in the Binion's casino employees game. Over 300 players were entered. When the Final 10 players were sat, a discussion was started and the players decided to "Chop It Up". But wait a minute! Card Player magazine steps up and says "Play it out... we want a winner!" The players proceeded to "Chop It Up" anyway, but continued to play. Well, since the players were now no longer playing for anything, the final table was done over in 5 hands. Paul technically got 7th place, but he made $778.00 for his portion of the cut.Thursday night saw Brian Masters, Michelle Bilo, and Lisa Harring playing at the Golden Nugget 7 PM tournament. Lisa and Michelle had to ask Brian to play in the tournament as he was at the Craps table with Jerry Garcia Sr. and Matt Glassman. With 47 players win the tournament at $110.00 each, it looked like this could be a great payout. The Final table of 5 saw Brian Masters and Lisa Harring going heads up. Brian Masters had about 50% more in chips than Lisa, and Brian was holding A - 10 offsuit. Lisa was holding K-Q. the flop comes Q-J-rag. Lisa bets, Brian Re-Raises, Lisa goes All-IN, Brian Calls. Turn comes a rag.... but the river gives Brian an Ace and knocks out Lisa Harring for her 5th place payout. With just 4 players left, Brian controls 40% of all chips on the table and is chip leader. The next hand Brian knocks out the next player. Brian is now controls more than 60% of chips in play. Brian has also knocked out the last 4 players in a row. The players talk... and offer is made..... Brian Masters wins! And walks off with over $1200.00. Then Brian Masters plays again... this time he's a little intoxicated.... and makes final table again. Brian Masters with Pocket Q's. Flops a Q, 9, 7. opponent goes "All-In". Brian calls. Player has 10 - 5 offsuit. He Bluffed. Turn comes 8, river J. Brian's out in 10th place. just missed the money. Harry Steinburg plays at the Fitzgerald Poker Room several times during the trip. He wins one ofthe afternoon tournaments. Dennis King also cleaned up on the $1 - $2 No Limit Tables The following staffers were representing the Denver Poker Tour: Brian Masters, Paul Orrison, Jennifer Myers, Michelle Bilo, Lisa Harring, Carlos Estrada, Dennis King, Steve Stokely, Matt Glassman, Jerry Garcia Sr., Harry Steinberg, & Jeff Kyzer. This weekend the Denver Poker Tour will be represented by no less than 10 of our lovely DPT Ladies in the Ladies World Series of Poker. Wish them the best and we can't wait to hear how well you do!
