CBI and CDG Conduct Poker Raid

Records Seized at Wheat Ridge "Texas Hold 'Em" Operation
For Immediate Release
Contact: Lance Clem, CBI, 303-239-4415

As part of its continuing efforts to investigate illegal poker operations, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation this week searched the offices of Amateur Poker Tour, 9751 W. 44th Ave. in Wheat Ridge, and seized documents and records, according to Agent Ralph Gagliardi of the CBI Gaming Unit.

"An illegal poker operation is one in which players pay a fee to play," said Agent Gagliardi. Social poker games are legal, but when a host or organizer charges any kind of fee for participation, Colorado law defines the game as illegal.

Illegal poker games remain a long-term focus of CBI enforcement activity. The seizure of records from APT was a joint investigation involving the Colorado Division of Gaming and CBI.
